The following steps are to inform you on how to export your textured poly paint from Zbrush 3.1. Now there are a few ways to poly paint and a few ways to export but all generally end the same way. The poly paint export I am explaining is when you use high res images to get the desired look and exporting that.
Texture Export for Zbrush
1. Import Object 2. Check UV at low poly 3. Save a separate copy of the Zbrush file 4. Store morph target at low poly 5. Disable UV’s 6. Import .jpg (images) in order to texture or you can use the paint selection for this program 7. Texture on the highest poly count, (completing one sitting.)Once finished with the texturing to export texture follow these steps.
1. Enable UV’s 3. UV Check (optimal) 4. Create new white texture with proper size based on UV’s 5. Color to texture.Texture should be at designated size.
6. Flip texture vertically 7. Export Texture in to the proper file open with Photoshop.Side note: Texture should be exported at high resolution.
Now these steps don’t work all the time so when you do this you have a 50% chance of it not working properly. So there could have been a step I missed. All you can do is close and reopen the project an try it again
I still don’t know how to do it – my model just becomes invisible (black), and col>tex doesn’t give any result – the search continues
