Design Document for 3D Character

If you’re writing your design document for a 3D animation, make sure you look at this example.

Objective: Create a character to be used in a video game.

Target Audience: Video game players that are between the ages of 17 to 28 and people in the video game industry.

Build: Athletic

Background Story: Drew is solider with the NAC (North American Coalition) Special Ops unit during the the war with SMEA (Soviet-Middle East Alliance). He becomes a wandering mercenary in Europe after he loses his family when the NAC is decimated by the SMEA. In battle Drew uses mixed martial arts and covert military tatics to takedown enemies. He uses a prototype armor that was given to him on his last NAC mission. The Armor enhances overall physical performance, as well as senses. While wandering in Germany he joins the rebellion against the SMEA. Drew is constantly haunted by the past during his journey and is driven to get vengence.

Description: The NAC uniform that Drew wears is thick, dark blue, pants and shirt, usually the shirt isn’t buttoned up, and the sleeves are rolled up. The armor itself is an add-on to the uniform, the armor covers roughly 75 percent of the body. The physical appearance of the armor is semi-thick titanium plated, covering up most of the legs leaving openings at the joints and inside thigh. The chest is almost completely covered, with the armor completely covering the arms and head. Drew’s weapons consists of a single edge 5′ sword that heats up and pulsates to cut down enemies and a a special AEG type rifle with interchangeable ammo.
