Treasure stones are great for arts and crafts with the kids, dinosaur themed parties, scavenger hunts, and more!
(makes 4 stones)
Ingredients:
- 1 cup used coffee ground
- 1/2 cup salt
- 1/4 cup sand
- 1 cup flour
- 3/4 cup water
STEP 1: Mix dry ingredients together and then slowly add enough of the water to the dough until it becomes stiff—you may not need all off the water, so pour slowly.
STEP 2: Knead the dough on a floured surface until fairly smooth.
STEP 3: Break the dough into 4 pieces. Hide and seal fun treasures (toy dinosaurs, plastic jewelry, etc. ) in the center of each ball of dough.
STEP 4: Bake at 150F degrees for 2 hours. Turn over half-time.
- Note: If you make smaller stones, bake for 1 hour and air dry for 2 days.-
STEP 5: Drying may take as long as 2-3 days. They will look and feel like rocks when dry!
