Don’t worry, I’m from the future.

“Don’t worry, I’m from the future.. this is supposed to happen.” Tex sighed.

“How am I supposed to believe that garble?” Wayne asked.

“200 years from now, the world will die if I don’t do this.”

“Then get to it!” Wayne yelled.

Tex fixes his sweatshirt from the rustling of Wayne’s over sized man-hands, bends back down and continues working on the bomb.  As Tex looks over his shoulder he notices Wayne sitting in the old wooden rocker with his double barrel shot-gun sitting in his lap., slightly dozing off. Tex makes one final adjustment on the bomb and sets it to go off in 3 years, 2 days and 13 hours. He covers up the bomb with the huge concrete slab and starts brushing himself off.

“That oughta do it..” He says.

“Ok well lets get out of here, this place gives me the creeps..” Wayne says as he looks around the cave for any sign of life.

They start walking slowly towards the light and closer to civilization.  It’s only a mile walk. Tex slows down a bit to let Wayne pass and then unexpectedly cracks him over the back of the head with the fake walking stick he’d been carrying all day. Tex takes all of Wayne’s clothes and walks to the surface looking just like the rest of them.

Tex startles a group of men as he walks out from the bushes, then stumbles around and pretends to be drunk, they pass by him without question. This town sure looks a lot different than it will in 2009. After passing through group by group, Tex finally gets to the portal.  The guards step aside and let in Tex, kind of strange as they usually wont let just anyone in. The metal door closes then Tex sees Wayne at the control station. Tex bangs on the door and attempts to pry it open but no luck, there is 4000 pounds of pressure behind these doors. Wayne must have came conscious early and ran back to the portal. Through the tiny window Tex watches as Wayne sets the date for the portal release. Wayne turns dials and punches numbers in the computer then walks away. Tex reads, August 20th 2007. 3 years, 2 days and 13 hours in the future.
