INT. CAR- NIGHT
RENEE (23),sits next to her boyfriend EAMON. She is dressed in a red pirate wench costume, black fishnet stockings with black buckled boots, her hair in ringlets with red ribbons. Eamon is wearing dark blue jeans, a black T-shirt and a Padres jacket. Renee’s best friend LONI has a black and grey pirate wench costume with black fishnets and black scrunched boots. They drive along the coastline in a RED HONDA CIVIC, MUSIC blares out of the speakers. Renee looks excited as she stares out the window. She looks at Eamon, suddenly her smile goes away, realizing the bothered expression across his face.
RENEE
(Concerned)
Is something wrong?
EAMON
(Irritated)
Uhhhh…nope
RENEE
Oh, well you just look upset. I can see it in your face.
EAMON
Everything is A-O-K! Stop tripping.
RENEE (CONT’D)
That’s great then. It’s going to be so fun I am so happy.
EAMON
Yeah.
RENEE
You’re going to like everyone. It’s going to be cool.
EAMON
Yeah.
They pull up to the parking lot and Renee sees all her FRIENDS and COUSINS waiting by the LIMO BUS. She turns around where Loni is sitting staring out the window. Loni sees Renee smiling at her and smiles back, she knows she is really excited.
EXT. PARKING LOT- NIGHT
RENEE
It’s going to be so bad ass Loni! Let’s go get trashed!
LONI
(Laughing)
Poor Eamon is going to have to drive our drunk asses home.
RENEE
(Giggling)
That’s right! Or we can all just crash here on the Cove.
The three of them get out of the car and walk towards a limo bus where Everyone is waiting. They are all dressed in pirate costumes and holding alcohol. Everyone starts hugging Renee. Eamon looks bored.
MARIE
(Shouting)
Happy Birthday, ya old woman!
LUKE
Happy Happy Birthday!
JULIO
(Shouting)
WOOOOHOOOO! Let’s get fucked up!
RENEE
Awwww! Thanks for coming you guys! You all look sooo good in your costumes. I’d like you all the meet my boyfriend Eamon.
Crowd of friends INTRODUCE themselves to Eamon. Eamon gives loose uninterested hand shakes to everyone. Loni and Renee are off to the side to let everyone go in first.
LONI
Whoa Renee, what the hell is wrong with him?
RENEE
With who?
LONI
You know who.
RENEE
OH. You noticed. I have no clue, he seemed fine earlier when we were getting ready and he was saying that it was going to be a great time. He’s acting really really weird and I wish he would tell me what was wrong. I know one thing though, he is not going to ruin my night. I am ready to have a great time.
LONI
Well I hope so, we all know how upset you can get about things.
RENEE
HAH! OK Yeah, I know.
Renee turns and looks at the bus window where Eamon is sitting and she sighs.
RENEE (CONT’D)
Yeah…Come on let’s go have fun.
Renee and Loni walk up the steps of the Limo Bus.
INT. LIMO BUS- NIGHT
Eamon sits at the back next to two open spots. Everyone has started drinking and dancing. There is LAUGHTER, SHOUTING, bottles opening and conversation going on. Two rows of shots are spread out on the bar ready for the toast. Everyone gets one except for Eamon, who drinks a beer. Renee walks up to Eamon.
RENEE
Wanna join me?
EAMON
I am cool, I got plenty to drink right here.
He lifts his bottle and takes a gulp of his cold beer.
RENEE
But it’s my birthday shot babe.
EAMON
Not now. Maybe later.
RENEE
Okay, I hope so.
Eamon turns away and begins to talk to her coworker LUKE. Renee gets up from her seat to join her friends for the toasts. She lifts up her shot glass.
RENEE (CONT’D)
This is for the people in my life who give a damn!
Cheers from the crowd of friends. Everyone lifts up the glasses and takes the shot.
RENEE (CONT’D)
(Shouting)
ANOTHER!
She pours herself another and takes it by herself. She looks at Eamon and it seems as if he forgot she existed. She turns away from him and takes two more shots. She stumbles toward her friends in the front of the bus that are dancing and swinging on the pole in the middle of their seats. Cameras FLASH and Renee plops herself next to her friend PAUL.
RENEE (CONT’D)
Tonight is a great night. My body is warming up.
PAUL
Just keep drinking and it’ll be even better.
RENEE
Can I borrow your camera? I forgot mine.
PAUL
Yeah just don’t drop it.
RENEE
Of course I won’t. I just want to take a picture of jerk off over there.
PAUL
(Chuckles)
Is it that bad tonight?
RENEE
He’s acting strange. I haven’t seen him like this. I really would like to sock him in the jaw…I am kidding of course.
PAUL
(Laughing)
I don’t know what to tell ya, Renee.
RENEE
Yeah I know. Oh well. Hey I will be back with your camera in a bit.
She walks to the back of the bus and points the camera at Eamon.
EAMON
(Angrily)
Don’t take the picture.
RENEE
Awww come on Eamon!
EAMON
I said don’t take it! I don’t want to take any pictures right now. Chill the fuck out.
The FLASH from the camera goes off. Luke looks back and forth at Renee and Eamon. He turns the other way and converses with Loni.
RENEE
Fuck You. You’re the one that needs to chill out.
Loni interrupts Luke, and looks at Renee.
LONI
Renee, let’s get a drink.
Loni gets up from the seat and they walk to the bar. Continued CHATTER. Dancing and drinking go on throughout the bus.
RENEE
He’s driving me insane!
A friend DANIELLE comes up to Loni and Renee at the bar.
DANIELLE
Don’t let that bother you. Just have a good time and deal with that later. You should just start dancing it will make you feel better, trust me.
INT. FRESH ANGLE- SAME
Eamon and Luke are talking at the back of the bus.
EAMON
Dude, do you see that girl over there dancing with the nice round ass and long wavy hair?
LUKE
Who?…OH man her body is bangin’!
EAMON
Hell yeah, now that is hot. We should go dance over there and talk to them.
LUKE
What about Renee? Don’t you think that’d piss her off? That’s not too cool man.
EAMON
Nah she’ll be happy I am talking to her friends.
LUKE
(Concerned)
I don’t think that girl is her friend. I think she might have come along with one of Renee’s friends.
They both get up and make their way to the front of the bus and start dancing. The GIRLS let them join in but make sure to keep a distance from Eamon, except one, GAIL, the girl Eamon eyed before. Gail is a 5’5 Latina olive skin, long wavy hair, and a nicely toned body. She turns to the Guys.
GAIL
Hey, you having a good time?
EAMON
I am now.
GAIL
Oh is that so?
EAMON
Of course, haven’t you seen yourself?
GAIL
Thank you. That’s sweet of you.
They continue to dance closely and seductively.
INT. BACK OF THE BUS
Renee, Loni, and Danielle watch in disbelief. Loni and Danielle look at each other then turn to Renee. Renee feels as if the whole bus is staring at her waiting to see what she’s going to do.
RENEE
I can’t take this shit anymore!
She turns to the bar takes three shots in a row of vodka, grabs her gin and tonic and walks over to her seat. Loni follows after her and turns to her.
RENEE (CONT’D)
What do I do Lon? How could he be such a prick to me in front of all my friends on my birthday? That girl Gail should have never come. She’s not even my friend! I want her off the bus! Now!
LONI
I don’t know! Just…uhhhh…He’s acting ridiculous!
RENEE
He wouldn’t even dance with me and he’s over there dancing with her.
INT. FRONT OF THE BUS- SAME
Luke nudges Eamon.
LUKE
Hey man your girl is watching you. She doesn’t look to happy.
Eamon looks up towards Renee. He stops dancing and walks towards Renee.
INT. BACK OF BUS- SAME
Loni leans towards Renee, who is tipsy herself.
LONI
Look, here he comes now. He’s probably scared because he got busted.
RENEE
Oh god my head is spinning. I need another drink. He really has the nerve to come over here after what he’s done.
Eamon sits beside Renee. Nudging her.
EAMON
Baby, what’s wrong?
RENEE
(Angrily)
Uh NOTHING!
She rolls her eyes and swings her head around back to Loni and ignores Eamon.
EAMON
(Irritated)
Are we almost done here I am getting pretty bored.
RENEE
Then go dance! You seemed to have enjoyed that very much.
EAMON
Screw you!
RENEE
Hah. Hah. Hah.
EAMON
Why are you acting so jealous?
RENEE
Jealous? How am I acting jealous? You’re the one being disrespectful!
EAMON
To who? You? How am I doing that?
RENEE
You prefer being all over some other female at my Birthday than with me and you expect me not to be upset?
EAMON
I wasn’t doing anything wrong. I was just dancing!
RENEE
Were you fucking born yesterday? You see nothing wrong with thrusting your body against her in front of your girlfriend? You haven’t really acknowledged our relationship tonight. No kisses, dancing, or drinks shared like we always do. You’re being an asshole.
EAMON
And you’re getting on my last nerve.
RENEE
You’ve embarrassed yourself and me. You just can’t see anything wrong in what you’ve done all night. Maybe if you sit back and think you might figure out how wrong you are.
EAMON
Ugh. Is this bus ever going to stop?
RENEE
(Disgust)
UGH! F-ing forget it! There is no getting through to you.
EAMON
You’re out of your f-ing mind Renee. Why don’t you go back to what you do best and drink your sorrows away. Go on. Get the fuck out of my sight.
RENEE
I think it’s time for you to realize you’ve made a huge mistake.
EAMON
And what’s that?
RENEE
Oh. You will see.
EAMON
Yeah you don’t have the guts to do anything. You’re pathetic.
Renee looks down and mumbles under her breathe.
RENEE
Ok you’ve gotta do this.
She gets up and walks up to the DRIVER. She looks out the window. The surroundings is not familiar.
RENEE (CONT’D)
Hey do you think you can pull over?
DRIVER
Yeah sure, anything for the birthday girl.
RENEE
Thanks very much!
Driver pulls over in a residential area. Renee walks back towards the bus. Everyone wondering what is going on. Loni gets up walks towards Renee.
LONI
What is going on?
RENEE
He wants to be a prick? I’ll show him.
LONI
Huh? What are you talking about?
RENEE
He’s not going to ruin my night.
Renee walks passed Loni towards Eamon.
EAMON
What the hell is going on?
RENEE
Get Out!
EAMON
(Laughing)
You’re totally out of your mind.
RENEE (CONT’D)
No. You’re bored right? You’re ready to leave. Well I’m ready for you to leave too. And quite frankly so is everyone else. You’re wasting a perfectly good night and killing my buzz. So get the f off!
EAMON
I am not getting off this bus. Do you even know where we are?
RENEE
Ummmmmm..nah sorry I don’t, too much of doing what I do best. OFF the bus Eamon!
EAMON
Look, let’s just talk this over. Things are just getting out of hand. Let’s just make our way back to the Cove so we can spend the rest of the night together. I’m sorry.
RENEE
(Grinning)
Too late. Don’t try to make it seem like everything is going to be OK. I am tired of looking at your face. Get the f off the bus.
Everyone is staring at the couple. Paul, Julio, and Luke get up and walk towards Eamon.
PAUL
Look man you need to get off.
LUKE
You really f-ed up man. Just get off. You’re a grown man you can handle yourself out there. Respect Renee’s wishes.
JULIO
If you don’t get out we are going to carry you out! You’ve been disrespecting my cousin all night, you’re lucky I don’t kick your ass right now.
EAMON
Man screw you witches.
Eamon gets up and looks at Renee.
EAMON (CONT’D)
You’ll regret everything you’ve done. Don’t think I want you back.
RENEE
The only thing I regret is bringing you here tonight! Bye bye.
EAMON
Yeah whatever you f-ing…
Julio grabs Eamon by the neck and shoves him off the bus into a lawn of a dark house. Renee sticks her head out the door.
RENEE
(Shouting)
Have a good night baby!
Renee LAUGHS JOYOUSLY. She pulls her head back in. The doors close and the bus takes off. Everyone CHEER.
EXT. LAWN- NIGHT
Eamon watches the bus drive away.
EAMON
(Shouting)
Come back! Don’t leave me here!
Eamon runs after bus until bus is out of sight.
INT. LIMO BUS- NIGHT
MARIE -Let’s all take a shot!
Paul begins pouring the shots. Everyone grabs a glass and waits for the toast.
RENEE- Here’s to the awesome night, the awesome alcohol and the awesome hangover we are all going to have tomorrow!
Everyone CHEERS and takes the shot. The radio BLASTS. Everyone begins dancing.
EVERYONE (Shouting) Happy Birthday Renee!
Dancing continues. Renee grabs her drink from the bar counter. Renee, Danielle, and Loni walk towards the back and sit down. Renee looks at her friends.
RENEE -Ladies, tonight is a good night.
Renee takes a drink of her gin and tonic.
