Terry Warner was born in a small town in Pennsylvania. The town was named after a famouse athelete who was burried in the town to boost the towns public relations which is strange for sure. Terry loved to draw as a young boy but was discouraged by his father because he said it would never make him any money. His proud today to have proved his dad wrong in the end.
In his twinties Terry was a climbing enthusiast and a self proclaimed “hot dogger.” His enthusiasm and disreguard for his safety ended up almost costing him his life while climbing Half Dome. He fell tewnty feet and hurniated two disks in his back, making it impossible for him to climb anymore. He now enjoys running and backwoods hiking but is limited by his injuries and his wifes concerns for his safety.
As a professional his first job in the industry was as a file clerk at Edison Brothers. He sais this was the best job he could have had because they tought him all aspects of the print industry. Looking back he wishes he would have finished his degree before jumping into a job right away. Terry describes himself as an instant gratification freak. He sais that is why he doesn’t paint anymore. Its allot faster to just create something on the computer without having to let layers of paint dry. In 1994 he began teaching at Platt in addition to running his own freelance graphic design company from home. His biggest client right now is SONY and he loves working for them. His mainmessage overall was “do what you love and finish school. Terry is a great teacher and an insparation as a graphic designer.
