As I look over at him, it becomes obvious. He is done with this interview. His patience has worn thin, after a long day of work, the last thing on his mind was my Q and A. CDJ was born in Liverpool England on January 19th 1973 to David and Maureen Johnson. After moving to the states at the age of seven, New York became his new home. Being the eldest of the boys, he was always groomed to be the chosen one, the “golden child.” That to this day has a great weight in the decisions he makes, both for himself and for his family. He is quiet and shy, yet when he has something he wants to share, you want to listen. You can tell the love he has for his family and friends, even though he won’t say it outright. His father always being involved in soccer saw how natural the sport came to his son. He was and is a natural athlete. Knowing what needed to be done to meet his goals, sacrificing social gatherings to get in the daily workout. His hard work soon paid off as he was awarded many victories in life. One of them being All American; not just soccer but lacrosse as well. Making the headlines in the local paper was a common occurrence, yet he would never tell you. I only know of this from his very proud mother. He then had to make a hard choice as to which college to attend, being offered many scholarships to various colleges. Finally choosing Amherst Massachusetts. After receiving his degree in sports management, he went on to play professional soccer until, unfortunately, he injured his back ending his career. Once he knew he could no longer play soccer, he quickly turned his sites on business and in 2006 became featured in Entrepreneur magazine for the top 100 new businesses. He applies the same strategy for success in business that he did when he was out on the pitch. The desire to succeed, to see things through to the end, no matter the circumstance. That is why he is a professional, in every area of his life.
