LIFE WITH MOM
My mother has always been a huge inspiration to me. Not only is she one of the few good people in my life, but she is my best friend. Since I can remember I have looked up to my mother. I decided to set up an interview with this strong influence in my life and find out facts about her that I probably should know or things that would be an interesting discovery about her.
This young lady was born on a wonderful Sunday afternoon, April 27, 1958. Machuacah, Mexico, my mother’s birthplace, is an exotic host to many nice strangers she would end up calling friends. She explains a variety of great memories she has from her childhood. Her favorite memory of all time would happen every year as a little girl on Independence Day. My grandmother would begin making a beautiful dress for her daughter, by hand, months before July 4th for it to be ready on that day. after she got the dress that was made with love from her mother, she was taken to the fair with her brothers to show off this stunning new piece of clothing she had just accepted, and to have a blast.
From hearing more about this great woman I call my mother’s childhood, I seem to have similar traits to her, especially when it comes to having fun. She was always doing something. she describes herself as being very active, and gives examples of just a few activities she used to love, such as; flipping coins, riding her bike, and pretty much mastering the game of marbles.
My mother has always been the type of woman to put her children before anything and everyone. When asked to describe her feelings about her 3 children at the moment she replies, “which one the favorite one or the retarded one?” at least we know she has a sense of humor. She talks about her oldest child, Brenda Aguilera, as being a good loving mother. Brenda has all of the qualities of a good mother, daughter, and wife. “Brenda is a very responsible and hard worker. she explains how her son lives too far away due to his job as a civil engineer and wishes he would move down to san Diego soon. Last but not least is my mother’s youngest of them all, me!! She still thinks of me as her little baby. Whenever I need somebody, she lets me know that she is my friend and will always be there for me. My mother has given her youngest daughter’s boyfriend permission to ask for her hand in marriage and has been completely accepting of him. “As long as you’re happy” she says to me.
My mother lives by many great principles and high standards. She completely believes that the more you read, the more you learn. She loves to read. “If I could read every single book in the world, I would do it. Books are her inspiration, and I’m not sure if she knows this but, my inspiration will always be my mother.
