Corina van der Meer was born in Tracey California. As the younger sister to three brothers she grew up as a tom boy, doing the same kinds of things her brothers were doing. This even included wearing their hand me down clothes they had grew out of. She lived with both of her parents until she was four and a half, then her parents split and she went to live with her mom. She grew up and went to school in Grass Valley, a small town in northern California. She did well in elementary school and high school, and had perfect attendance. After high school she got excepted to the University of California as an engineering major. Half way through her sophomore year she realized that engineering wasn’t going to work for her. After some thought she changed majors to communication. She ultimately graduated with a BA in communication with and emphasis in broadcast journalism, and a minor in organizational communication.
Her career started at a country club, where she organized events. After a year she moved to San Diego and continued working at another country club for the next three years. Corina currently works for the Hilton Bay Front, organizing events and making sure they go well. She loves her job and the people she works with for the most part, thought she is never shy to speak up about something that bothers her with people or things that bother her at work.
As far as her home life goes, she lives with her boyfriend and one room mate along with a cat. For fun, Corina likes to go out with friends, jog, and has a strange love for vacuuming which doesn’t bother her room mates at all. She prides herself as an organized person, after all its what she does for a living. She wouldn’t just come out and say it if you asked, but she has her finances laid out on a spread sheet until 2012. This brings balance to her relationship because her other half is organizationally challenged. In the future Corina plans to be self employed running her own wedding planning business. Over all she is a person that inspires me to not give up on my dreams, and helps me see how bright my future actually is.
