An unusual practice in our family: To steal your cake on your first birthday right before your eyes.
You can’t believe that? Well, imagine seeing a cute baby in a high chair, experiencing “Happy Birthday” for the first time, his eyes all aglow with delight as a huge candle lit cake is placed before him on his tray. WAIT FOR IT…… Just at that moment as he reaches out, SWISH…. it is taken away. The baby is left there to cry for a few minutes as all the other family members laugh at this ridiculous right-of-passage.
This has been the Pearson family tradition for years, and I’ve seen the family video footage that proves it. Baby after baby has been scarred with the same twisted Pearson Brand time and again. Honestly, it’s like watching a child lose their first layer of innocence.
It happened to me too, and even though I don’t remember it, I am sure that this subconscious scarring is at the root of ALL MY PROBLEMS!!!
