Have you killed a hooker today?

Violence in video games has become a higher and higher concern among parents these days, and rightly so, because the content in video games is growing increasingly more offensive. Prostitutes, exploding heads, blood, gore, sex, drugs, and rock and roll. However, though they have a right to be concerned they do not have a right to censor the art. Many parents are lobbying to ban video games because of their offensive content. Their reasoning being that they do not want their children exposed to such content. This is backwards thinking, parents are shirking their own responsibility and shifting blame to the developers of a medium of art that I love and cherish. I have every right to play a game with graphic violence and suggestive themes because I am an adult and will decide myself if I find it offensive. It is a parents responsibility to keep such things away from their child if they wish, or at the very least tell them it is bad, but they have no right impeding on my entertainment because they can’t keep their kid in check.
