You make a very strong point and I must admit I have been not just a victim of this but also a culprit as well. I’ve caught myself doing this on a few occasions, regretfully. It’s become second nature for most of us, almost TOO second nature. I do agree that it is very rude and selfish to dabble with your phone while speaking to someone. It basically diminishes the person you are speaking to. I also very much respect the fact that not only do you have this strong opinion, but follow it as well, by refusing to own a smart phone of any kind. Not only do you talk the talk, but you walk the walk as well. Very well written post as well.
