Welcome to Introduction to Literature
English 101 introduces literature and the creative writing process. We read and discuss writings from a variety of genres, from across the globe, from classic to contemporary. The goals are to inspire. to discover new worlds, to develop critical judgement, and to explore our own creative process. Good literature asks big questions. Who are we? Where do we come from? Where are we going? How do we deal with problems? What is important? Two main themes of this course will be: 1) HOPE, and 2) WHAT IS IMPORTANT to me, as an individual, as a student at Platt College and as a member of society.
